Writing with AI, honestly: a short guide
October 5, 2026 · 3 min read
Start from your own notes. A draft generated from nothing tends to say nothing in particular. Give the assistant your points, your figures and your opinion, and ask it to organise them.
Rewrite in your own voice. Read the draft aloud. Anything you would never say goes. Tools like Samesay help with the mechanical part, but the choices are yours.
Check every fact. Assistants invent sources and round numbers. Our meaning check catches changes between your draft and a rewrite; it cannot tell whether the draft was right in the first place.
Know the rules. Schools, publishers and employers have different policies on AI help, and some ask you to disclose it. Follow them. A tool that hides AI use from people who asked not to receive it is not one we want to build.
